According to 2010 statistics, the average time lapsed between landing and the moment the passengers left the airport was about 26 minutes and departure procedures also take up in average about 17 minutes which allows passengers to enjoy more leisure time before boarding.

2) Monthly Statistics Highlights

In June 2010, Macau International Airport (MIA) handled 2,909 aircraft movements and 326,724 passengers; it also processed 4,063 tonnes of freights and 14 tonnes of airmail.

When compared the accumulated figures of June against the same month in 2009, aircraft movement had drawn backward 12% respectively, other sectors grew positively :? passengers (1%), air-freights (29%) and airmail (43%).

Of the total accumulated passengers registered in this June, Taiwan, China was the major contributor of the market, accounted for 40% of the total, registering 827,201 passengers.? Other Cities in China still ranked second, constituting 22% of the total and reporting 465,539 passengers. Both Thailand and Malaysia accounted 10% and 9% of the total respectively, with 203,570 and 194,883 passengers reported.? Singaporeoccupied the fifth position, with 127,866 passengers and shared 6% of the total. ?When compared the accumulated figures recorded in June 2009, Taiwan, China (-8%) and Thailand (-1%)droppedwhileOther Cities in China (14%), Malaysia(5%) and Singapore (3%) grew positively.

The five major cities during the month were: Taipei registered 106,859 passengers, which also represented 33% of the total,then followed by Kaohsiungwith 36,764 passengers, accounting another 11%of the total passengers.? Shanghaialsocontributed 11% of the total volume with 34,392 passengers. Both Bangkokand Singapore accounted 10% and 7% respectively, reported 31,124 and 24,338 passengers.?

Most of the major city-destinations draw positive monthly growth in June: Tokyo (173%), Osaka (121%), Nanjing(80%), Shanghai (70%), Seoul(42%), Clark (40%), Xiamen(37%), Bangkok (17%), Taipei (11%), Kaohsiung (11%) and Singapore (5%). The airport has processed 27,901 tonnes of accumulated throughput until June 2010, represented a significant increase of 29% when compared with one year ago. Taiwan, China registered 71% of the total cargo throughput, with 19,809 tonnes of freights, in term of growth it increased greatly by 43%.? Other Cities in China was responsible for 10% of the total, registering 2,929 tonnes of cargo but slumped by 48% against same month in 2009.? Thailand, as the third largest cargo market of the airport reported 1,231 tonnes, accounted 4% of the total freights and increased significantly by 81%. Both Japan and Malaysiawere firstly included in the top-five list.? Japan reported 827 tonnes or 3% of total freights since very little volume of freights had been transported for Japan one year ago, growths are not applicable.? Malaysiaregistered 503 tonnes, which was 2% of the total, 15% more than last year.

The five major cargo cities during June were Taipei (16%), Shanghai (2%), Bangkok (79%), Kaohsiung (48%) and Osaka (n.a.)all performed positive growths.

¡@ Macau International Airport has launched a new service called Express Link easily identifiable by the logo

With this seamless service, passengers arriving at MFM by air can simply continue their trip to Hong Kong by sea and China by land, through the Macau Ferry Terminal, Taipa Ferry Terminal or Border. They only need to take a transit bus available at the airside of the airport, without the need of any formalities from Immigration and Customs in Macau. On the other hand passengers departing from MFM can also enjoy the same convenient service if they arrive to Macau via the Ferry Terminal.
